The True Adventures of Yukon Favourite Bard: Amazing Stories
The Yukon is a land of extremes. It's a place where the sun can shine for 24 hours a day in the summer, and where the temperature can drop to -40 degrees Celsius in the winter. It's a place of vast wilderness, with mountains, forests, and rivers that stretch as far as the eye can see.

It's also a place of stories. Stories of adventure, of hardship, of humor, and of heart. And no one tells these stories better than Yukon Favourite Bard.
Yukon Favourite Bard is a singer-songwriter, storyteller, and author. He's been performing his unique brand of Yukon humour and storytelling for over 20 years, and he's released several albums and books of his work.
His latest book, The True Adventures of Yukon Favourite Bard, is a collection of his best stories. These stories are full of the same wit, charm, and wisdom that have made Yukon Favourite Bard a beloved figure in the Yukon.
In The True Adventures of Yukon Favourite Bard, you'll meet a cast of characters as colourful as the Yukon itself. There's the Sourdough Kid, a young boy who dreams of becoming a gold miner; the Klondike Kate, a dance hall girl with a heart of gold; and the Mad Trapper of Rat River, a mysterious figure who disappeared into the wilderness in the early 1900s.
You'll also travel to some of the most beautiful and remote places in the Yukon. You'll climb mountains, paddle rivers, and camp under the stars. And you'll learn about the history and culture of this amazing land.
But most importantly, you'll be entertained by Yukon Favourite Bard's storytelling. His stories are full of laughter, tears, and wisdom. And they will stay with you long after you've finished reading them.

Here's a sneak peek at one of the stories from the book:
**The Sourdough Kid**
I was seven years old when I first heard the call of the wild. It was a warm summer night, and I was sitting on the porch of our cabin, listening to my father tell stories of his days as a gold miner.
"I remember one time," he said, "I was panning for gold in a creek, and I found a nugget the size of my thumb. It was worth a fortune!"
My eyes widened in amazement. I had never heard of anyone finding a gold nugget that big before.
"I want to be a gold miner," I said.
My father laughed. "You're too young to be a gold miner," he said. "You need to finish school first."
But I couldn't wait to finish school. I wanted to go out and find my fortune. So I ran away from home and headed for the gold fields.
I didn't find much gold, but I had a lot of adventures. I learned how to pan for gold, how to build a fire, and how to survive in the wilderness.
One day, I was panning for gold in a creek when I saw a group of men riding horses. They were wearing red shirts and black hats, and they had guns strapped to their sides.
"Who are they?" I asked an old prospector who was sitting nearby.
"They're the North West Mounted Police," he said. "They're here to keep the peace in the gold fields."
I watched as the Mounties rode past. They were a proud and impressive sight. I knew right then and there that I wanted to be a Mountie.
I went on to have a long and successful career as a Mountie. I served in the Yukon, the Northwest Territories, and British Columbia. I saw a lot of things in my time, but I never forgot my dream of finding a gold nugget the size of my thumb.
And one day, I finally did.
I was panning for gold in a creek in the Yukon when I saw something shining in the water. I reached down and picked it up, and it was a gold nugget. It was the biggest gold nugget I had ever seen. It was worth a fortune.
I held the gold nugget in my hand and smiled. I had finally achieved my dream. I was a rich man.
But I didn't keep the gold nugget for myself. I gave it to the Yukon government, so that it could be used to help the people of the Yukon.
I'm still proud of that decision. I know that the gold nugget will do more good in the hands of the Yukon government than it ever would have in my hands.
And I'm still proud to be a Yukon Favourite Bard. I love telling stories about the Yukon and its people. And I hope that my stories will inspire others to come to the Yukon and experience its magic for themselves.
