The Arctic Sahtu Dene people are an indigenous people who have lived in the Northwest Territories of Canada for thousands of years. They are a close-knit community with a strong connection to the land and its resources. In recent years, climate change has had a devastating impact on the Sahtu Dene way of life. The permafrost is thawing, the ice is melting, and the animals they depend on are disappearing.
End of Earth People is a compelling and immersive account of the Sahtu Dene people and their struggle to maintain their traditional way of life in the face of climate change. The book is written by Dene journalist and author Niigaan Sinclair, who spent years living with the Sahtu Dene and documenting their experiences. Sinclair's writing is lyrical and evocative, and he brings the Sahtu Dene people and their culture to life.
End of Earth People is a must-read for anyone who wants to understand the impact of climate change on indigenous peoples. It is a story of resilience, hope, and the power of community. The book is illustrated with stunning photographs by Dene photographer Scott Waldner.
